MonPanier: Click-and-Collect for Neighbourhood Shops in Belgium

Order online, collect in store. A commission-free storefront and order desk for independent local shops.

1

Problem

Neighbourhood shops struggle to be visible online and to take orders without handing a share of every sale to a marketplace. Commission-based platforms put a middleman between the shop and its regulars, while no-shows on uncollected orders cost small shops time and stock.

2

Approach

Keep the shop in charge of the customer relationship: no commission, no online payment step, a flat subscription. Remove onboarding friction by letting shop owners build their catalogue from photos with AI, and design the order desk around the real rush at the counter rather than a generic e-commerce back office.

3

Solution

A public storefront per shop, searchable by city and neighbourhood, with an online catalogue and collection slots generated from opening hours (same day or next day). Customers order and pay in store. Shops get an order desk sorted by collection time with a "start now" view based on their preparation time, customer history, recurring weekly orders, reviews, shared no-show flagging between shops, team accounts, statistics and CSV export, plus iOS and Android apps with push notifications. Available in French, Dutch and English.

Details

MonPanier is a click-and-collect platform that puts Belgium's neighbourhood shops online without taking a cut of their sales. Customers browse local shops, order, pick a collection slot and pay at the counter, as usual. Shops pay a flat subscription, never a percentage.

The Challenge

Bakeries, butchers, cheesemongers and greengrocers compete with platforms that are visible everywhere but charge a commission on every order and sit between the shop and its customers. For a small shop, going online often means either giving up margin or spending hours building a catalogue. And an order that is never collected is a real loss of time and stock.

The Solution

I built MonPanier, through my company Netux SRL, around one idea: a local business should not have to become invisible, or give up its margin, to exist online.

Key value drivers:

  • 0% commission: a flat monthly plan, and payment stays in store. MonPanier is not a party to the sale.
  • Catalogue in an afternoon: shop owners photograph a menu, a shelf, a fridge or a chalkboard, and AI extracts products, prices and descriptions.
  • An order desk built for the rush: orders sorted by collection time, a "start now" view computed from the shop's own preparation time, queue or recap mode, then hand-over at the counter.
  • Customers stay the shop's customers: order history per customer, recurring weekly orders for regulars, and reviews on the storefront.
  • Fewer no-shows: each order shows whether the customer is new and how many orders they have completed, shops can flag no-shows and see flags from other shops, and first orders are capped.
  • Findable in three languages: each shop gets its own address and storefront, searchable by city and neighbourhood, with filters such as "open now", "closest" and "best rated", in French, Dutch and English.

Key features:

  • Public storefront and online catalogue per shop
  • Collection slots generated from opening hours
  • Unlimited team members, with the owner managing the subscription
  • Push notifications on iOS and Android apps
  • Order history, daily statistics and CSV export for bookkeeping
  • Free trial (5 items, one AI import), then the Neighbourhood plan

Technical Foundation

The web front end is a React single-page app built with Vite, with i18next for the three languages, and it ships to iOS and Android through Capacitor, so one codebase serves the web and both app stores. The application is hosted on cloud infrastructure in the European Union.
